Let's talk about the advantages and disadvantages of folding cartons: In the process of designing the box structure, our designers have to choose different types of cartons according to the needs of different products and customers. But our common folding boxes have tube folding cartons and plate folding cartons, which are more common to us. For tubular folding cartons, it is represented as a lock bottom Jack cartons. This type of carton has the following advantages.

1.The knife mold is relatively simple: Compared to the disk folding carton, the tubular folding carton does not have a large area of two faces for stacking, so there is basically no need to consider the margin near the crease and indentation line. But we have to be very careful when designing the bottom, to ensure that the bottom is locked, there should be enough extension margin to support the product in the box.

2. Less consumables: In the same volume, the tubular folding box surface area is smaller, that is, there are relatively few consumables.

3. The size difference between the inside and outside of the folding box is very small. The four left and right sides of the tubular folding carton are mainly made of latex paste. They do not need to be folded and interspersed with paper. Therefore, the difference between external size and internal size will become very small, usually 1.5 times the thickness of the paper skin.

The above describes the advantages of tubular folding carton, so let's say its disadvantages:

1. The limitations of using: The bottom is supported by the stack of paper. If the product swings up and down in the package to produce a greater impact, the bottom is easily broken. Due to the thickness and strength of the carton, This packing structure is more suitable for the kind of box with little difference in length and width.

2. The poor transportation and storage: tubular folding carton pressure resistance is poor, generally can not be stacked multiple layers, nor is it conducive to the operation in transit(in the case of products placed in the package).

The advantages and disadvantages of disc folding carton and tube folding carton are exactly the opposite or the two are complementary. The representative type of disc folding carton is what we call an aircraft box(named after it is similar to an aircraft pattern after it is unfolded), but its disadvantages are that the cutter is complex, folding is troublesome, there are relatively many consumables, and there are many differences in internal and external dimensions; The advantage is that the bottom has good support, and the product is not easily broken when it moves up and down internally. This also determines that it has good transport and liquidity. Therefore, we see that many packaging boxes with higher protective requirements adopt this structure. The packaging box is packaged; The locking structure on both sides also ensures that the box has a good compressive ability and is suitable for multiple layers.
